Dolphin Rescue Hawaii - Update: A Chance Encounter
Baby spinner dolphin enjoying the newly discovered talent of spinning.
Snorkeling this morning on Neptune Charlies boat, we ran into some bottlenose dolphins that kindly escorted us to the rest of their friends.
My parents came to visit Hawaii and I only have ten photos because we had too much fun.
I tried to put party hats on Dolphins and make them sing Happy Birthday but they’re too smart for such foolishness so they sang their own song and ditched the hats. Happy Belated Birthday Weekend to four of my close friends.
My first three dives using a camera - not a GoPro - were all boat dives. Two day dives - Pipe Dreams and Golden Arches - and one night dive at Manta Village.
Stay tuned for footage of me diving at Manta Heaven with dozens of Manta Rays, shot by the professionals at Manta Ray Advocates.

Two Saturday morning scuba dives to almost 30m and a few spontaneous “oh those are spotted and spinner dolphins quick stop the boat jump in” surface snorkel swims. Plus we saw Lefty Ray who is nearly 3m across and at least 40yrs old. Lots of colorful fish, other rays, and even a shy octopus who hid in her cave and squirted water at us when we got too close. Boat dives give lots of flexibility (plus great views, snacks, and conversation) but I’m looking forward to a shore dive next week with the hopes of seeing some large tiger sharks.
