Porcupinefish hanging out under a coral head. Bright lights for the night dive proved very useful on the twilight dive beforehand too. (at Keauhou Bay)
The Hawaiian Monk seal is federally protected and critically endangered animal with a tiny population of approximately 1100. We have seen one pregnant female - tagged H01 and named Waimanu - swimming curiously at the Manta Ray Night Dive for three consecutive nights. Saturday and Sunday she swam right down to the divers to check us out. Watch the never before seen encounter of a Monk Seal and Manta Ray on the Manta Ray Advocates Facebook page.
